Tap Takeover with Birrificio Argo
#Banco spine #Brewery
06/03/2020 from 7pm
For the Craft Beer Week we organized three small events to celebrate the real beer, the good one. The second appointment is the Tap Takeover with Argo Brewery!
The Argo Brewery was born near Parma in 2013 and the image from which it decides to be represented is the airship, to remember the trips and experiences made and to always carry them with you while flying over the world. Argo was the ship of the Argonauts and, like them, since 2013 they have been flying in search of new flavors, styles and ingredients.
On Friday March 6th from 7pm we host 5 of their beers, but not only! Being the week dedicated to craft beer, we thought of an advantageous package for true beer lovers, the good one.
Do you want to know what it is?
5 Argo beers + All You Can BEEEEEER on all our beers, for the whole evening at € 30 if you buy the ticket on Eventbrite, otherwise at € 35 if you buy it on site.
All aboard because, as Argo says, “WE WANT BEER!”
“Piacere, IGA” – tasting of Italian grape ales
#Pub
08/03/2020 at 5pm
IGAs are the first beer style officially recognized as Italian.
They are beers born from the union and combination of beer must and grapes, whose aroma characterizes this style in a unique and unmistakable way.
Beer, as we understand it today, arrived in Italy very late, in the second half of the nineteenth century, brought by foreigners from across the Alps in search of a virgin market, and it took even longer to establish itself for the contrast of autarchic policies and influences from the wine lobby. We must wait until the 90s when, thanks to the intuition and unconsciousness of a new class of Italic master brewers, the seed of a new beer movement capable of establishing itself, in less than thirty years, inside and outside the national borders.
Italy, although not the only nation in the world producing this style, has been internationally recognized as a reference point for this type, boasting an enormous heritage of indigenous grapes, which represents its incredible biodiversity, capable of creating that characterization relationship between product and territory, up to now almost lacking in national brewing products.
Sunday March 8th at 5pm we start to discover this particular world in a tasting of the IGA, in collaboration with Right Beer and guided by our Davide Bereny.
Come and taste the Italian Grape Ale in the lounge of the Pub , for € 15.

A really interesting guest will come to visit us on Thursday 12 March at the Cocktail & Tapas Bar, on an evening that links the tasting of a millennial product to the food pairing.

Uovo is her second venue, one of the first sake bars in Italy, opened about a year ago in Porta Palazzo together with the couple of friends Giorgia Boursier and Fabrizio Barale. 15 seats along a light wooden counter confronts a selection of about 40 different sake labels, a millenary product of the Japanese tradition, open from breakfast to after dinner.

Edicolando with Mao & Dott. Lo Sapio
#Pub
18/02/2020 from 7pm to 11pm
“Edicolando” is a live broadcast that gives voice to Turin projects and initiatives that deserve special attention, inviting us to a moment of reflection on cultural and social issues.
We therefore host three appointments with Turin characters who will tell our city through personal stories, in a real living room set up inside EDIT – Turin, where you can also have dinner. Famous people and new voices will succeed the microphones of “Edicolando”. The interviews will be interspersed with live musical interventions and DJ sets, so that even the music will have its right space, both live and told through the anecdotes of special guests.
A CortoCorto production, “Edicolando” will also be visible in live streaming on the Facebook pages of CortoCorto.
■ Who is Dottor Lo Sapio?
Since the early eighties Vito Miccolis has created what will be his radio alter ego, or the character of Doctor Lo Sapio, which will bring him a great popularity, so much so that even today he is identified more often with this nickname than with his real name. Doctor Lo Sapio makes his radio debut in the Radio Torino Popolare program “Popolar la notte”, a sort of “High approval” nineties version that alternates various comic situations with essentially Italian, quality music, from big names, to posses, up to the “basic” groups of the Turin and Piedmontese artistic reality. From 2014 to today, “Roba forte”, in addition to a radio program, becomes a live show, which sees the indispensable Antonio Lo Sapio accompanied by the inexhaustible creative of the Savino Lo Bue style, the pungent irony of the newfound Captain Freedom and with supervision in the control room of Mauro “Mao” Gurlino.
■ Who is Mao?
Mao, otherwise known as Mauro Gurlino, graduated in History and Criticism of Cinema at the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy of the University of Turin, “is and has been everything”, as one day he was defined by a journalist to describe his multifaceted thirty-year career. Since 2014 he has been part of the “Roba forte” team, a radio variety broadcast live. He manages the CortoCorto STUDIO, an indie production and recording studio located in the heart of the San Salvario district of Turin.
■ What is CortoCorto?
CortoCorto is a crew that organizes live showcases, a production and distribution house for radio programs, an online channel, a music format laboratory, an audio-video recording studio, a press office. Founded in Turin in 2002 by Mao, over the years it has hosted more than 1,000 artists, making it one of the most long-lived in Italy for the dissemination of musical culture. The common denominator of the CortoCorto projects is to be appointments in which established as well as emerging artists participate, all placed on the same level and only with the desire to share an experience of mutual exchange.

MAKEPOP LIVE
#Banco spine #Brewery #Pub
17/02/2020 at 10pm
The Makepop project was born a long time ago, with the intention of making pure pop music and supporting the creativity of the composition without any type of fashion intent or limitations for commercial purposes, fighting against our mental barriers.
The inspiration comes from all types of sound and especially from artists such as Billy Joel, The Beatles, David Bowie, Queen, Frank Zappa, Mike Patton, Prince, Led Zeppelin, Morgan; but also Aqua, Slayer, Katy Perry, PInk Floyd and Abba.
Makepop is a musical, theatrical and philosophical project, it is a free band for a free world. We are Italians, we play a lot in our country and we are ready to bring our message of musical freedom everywhere !!!
We recorded an album “How many others?”, The first proof of our existence in this world. In this album you will find funk, dance, soul, pop, rock. Our songs are for everyone and nobody. We like improvisation, our music changes constantly: from song to song, from concert to concert, from acoustic to electric. Difficult to explain, you should listen!
I Shot a Man Live
#Banco spine #Brewery #Pub
30/01/2020 at 10pm
“I Shot a Man” was born in summer 2014, from a bad idea by Domenico De Fazio, of his slides, of his old electric, wooden and iron guitars. On the drums there is Blue Bongiorno, a jazz-trained multi-instrumentalist who enriches his sets with spoons, boards for washing clothes, thimbles and tobacco cans. Complete the training Manuel Peluso, who marries fingerpicking on the acoustic guitar with a vocal setting halfway between the crooner and the street musician.
They play with the stubbornness to resume the history of the blues from the beginning, they want an essential, almost incomplete sound that returns the world in which the blues was born, when the instruments were few and rusty, but in the middle of that scrap metal they managed to melodies born so pure as to become universal. The absence of the bass forces them to invent new arrangements, to rethink the rhythm in a constant dialogue between percussion and a hundred year old fingerpicking.
2018 is the year in which the band begins to gain the attention of the Italian blues scene. The Shot a Man win the Blues Effect contest, share the stage with the Animals on the occasion of the Torrita Blues Festival, are among the guests of the main stage at the Blues Made in Italy meeting. Alongside the festivals, the band’s journey is filled with clubs and clubs in northern and central Italy, and the collaboration with the community of blues dancers is born, a love at first sight that gives life to numerous evenings and that brings the band for two years consecutive as headliner at The Big Blues festival in Crete.
In autumn 2018 the embryo of the first album was born. In February 2019 the disc is recorded, thanks to a crowdfunding that went far beyond expectations. The disc is recorded live in the studio at Rubedo Recordings, in Turin.
On March 27th “Gunbender” is presented at the Turin Jazz Club. The place is so full that many cannot enter.
In May 2019, the collaboration with AZ Blues was born, and even among the insiders, we started talking about I Shot a Man. Many enthusiastic reviews arrived, even from the most authoritative magazines: Many lives followed, and the band was among the three finalists of the International Blues Challenge.
They like to say that this whole story was a bad idea, because the blues is the first music you try to strum when you take a guitar in your hand, but it is the last one you learn to play really, and sometimes one is not enough life. It was a bad idea because when you decide to play blues it means that something has gone wrong somewhere, that there is some outstanding account with life.
Gunbender is the debut album of the Turin trio I Shot a Man. It was presented on March 27, 2019 with a sold-out at the Jazz Club Torino.
We were born in Turin, all three of us. All three children of travelers, migrants, people who were looking for a better place to live. Our blues were born here, in the most European of Italian cities, but that in its suburbs, in the heart of certain neighborhoods, it is so motionless that time seems to have stopped, and everything continues to repeat itself. And the blues, after all, is repetition. It is that obsessive way that thoughts torment you at night, while two drunks scream in the street, neighbors make love, and you continue to ask yourself how far away the morning is still.
Gunbender is the story of these early years, of the music of the people and places that influenced us. More than a record, it is a photo album, a declaration of intent, the prologue for a new story.

The first event that combines beer pairing with a show is coming!
What is a Beer Pairing?
It is an experiential pairing path between beer and food, in which one stands out and completes the sensorial and gustatory characteristics of the other.
The beers for tasting will be curated by the Piccolo Clandestino Brewery while the EDIT Pub will offer a selection of the matching courses.
Who are the protagonists?
All Tuscan DOCs:
– Simone Cantoni, passionate journalist known as the poet of beer.
– Lorenzo “Ciccetto” Ceccarini voice actor of the Nido del Cuculo association, the one who together with Paolo Ruffini gave voice to the show Io? Doppio! and numerous parodies.
– Pierluigi Chiosi, brewer of the award-winning Piccolo Clandestino Brewery.
How does the evening unfold?
At the EDIT Pub lounge a Beer pairing with 3 beers from the Piccolo Clandestino Brewery awaits you paired with 3 dishes prepared from the Pub’s cuisine, inspired by Tuscan cuisine. Between one beer and another, presented by the brewer Pierluigi Chiosi and Simone Cantoni, some videos dubbed by the Cuckoo’s Nest will be screened and commented, thus creating an improvised show focused on “Livorness”.
When?
Thursday December 5th at 8pm.
